We, the members of Sports Chaplaincy Zambia (SCZ), guided by our Christian faith and recognizing the power of sports in shaping character, fostering discipline, and promoting positive values, are committed to supporting athletes, coaches, and sports personnel through chaplaincy services, mentorship, and ethical guidance — ensuring their holistic development in alignment with Christian principles.

SCZ is registered and headquartered in Avondale, Lusaka, Zambia, with branch offices established across the country as our reach grows.

Our Vision

To be a leading faith-based organisation that nurtures athletes and sports communities through spiritual care, mentoring, and chaplaincy services, fostering holistic personal and professional development.

Our Mission

To provide pastoral and spiritual care, mentorship, and ethical guidance to athletes, coaches, and sports personnel — helping them navigate personal and professional challenges while promoting integrity, discipline, and excellence in sports. Additionally, to train and equip individuals to become sports chaplains.

Objectives

What SCZ Does

Sports Chaplaincy Zambia operates across several key areas to fulfil our mission of holistic development in Zambian sports.

Provide chaplaincy services to athletes, coaches, and sports personnel
Identify, equip, nurture, place, guide and supervise sports chaplains
Promote spiritual growth and Christian values in sports
Combat substance abuse and encourage healthy lifestyles
Foster self-discipline, self-denial, and perseverance among athletes
Support athletes' mental well-being and self-esteem
Engage in community outreach and sports evangelism
Build a nationwide network of sports chaplains across Zambia

Our Governance Structure

President

Provides overall leadership, represents SCZ at national and international events, and oversees strategic direction.

Board of Trustees

Provides governance oversight, approves major decisions and policies, and ensures accountability and sustainability.

Executive Committee

Implements SCZ programs, manages daily operations, and develops partnerships and collaborations.
